Fran Núñez is a Chilean photographer based in Toronto, ON, known for her versatile approach to visual storytelling, blending photography, video, and creative techniques with finesse. She began her journey as a self-taught enthusiast collaborating with indie music media, where she developed a keen eye for capturing the essence of musicians and their artistry.

Seeking to deepen her skills, Fran pursued formal education in Photojournalism at ALPES Escuela de Imagen y Comunicación in Santiago, Chile, graduating with high honors. This academic background enriched her ability to explore personal and social narratives through her work.

Fran’s creative focus spans several areas. Her personal projects explore human experiences, capturing fleeting moments and evoking deep emotions through imagery. Her portraiture pushes boundaries, exploring themes of femininity and identity with what she calls "Imaginary Portraits," blending realism with an artistic, experimental style.

With over a decade devoted to photography, Fran has specialized in music photography, documenting numerous artists and bands in Chile and around the world. Her work not only captures the energy of live performances but also reveals intimate backstage moments that showcase the human side of music.

Francisca has exhibited her work in cultural hubs like Santiago, Berlin, and Rome, and her photography has been featured in esteemed publications such as LensCulture, Photovogue, and Letargo, solidifying her reputation as an innovative photographer.

Beyond photography, Fran explores video poetry, combining visual art with poetic sensibilities. Her video works have been celebrated at festivals like the Helios Sunpoetry FilmFestival, Cadence Video Poetry Festival, and International Art Film Festival, highlighting her versatility and creativity.

Recognized for her contributions to the art world, Fran was a finalist in the LensCulture Black&White 2018 competition and participated in the Associazione Ottovolante Residency program in Italy in 2018.

Through her art, Fran Núñez continues to redefine visual storytelling, inviting viewers into a world where emotion, narrative depth, and aesthetic beauty come together to provoke thought and leave a lasting impression.
